Great base for landscaping over weeds, poison ivy, or lawn. Used landscaping staples to secure

This is a great base for areas you are trying to reclaim from brush, weeds, and poison ivy to smother and then cover with other landscaping materials.I cleared the area well, raked out some leaf mulch that was decayed and nearby, then covered the area with this fabric. I stapled it to the earth using landscape staples made of stainless and used a regular hammer for this (the staples were bought on amazon too). I may go back later and smooth it out with rounded shape and re-staple that down, but for now I like it oversized to smother the most weeds and poison ivy in the area under a future hammock that I’m trying to landscape and make cleaner for kids to be able to use.I also had enough leftover to use some in another part of my yard adjacent to my house where I covered freshly mowed lawn with it, stapled it, and then covered it with gravel and bordered it with pave stone mini rumble stones in a double staggered layer for a boarder. I made this sort of gravel island to house my plethora of felt grow bags of veggies that seem to multiply.I like that it’s a very fast way to cover and reclaim lawn or brush if you plan to just cover it. I wouldn’t plan to use this under a raised garden bed or anywhere I actually want plants to grow through it and into the earth. I’m only using it in areas where I’m trying to smother and rid the area of vegetation and cover with rock, chip, or mulch and then just cut out the fabric later on any plants that I really want landscaped over it.It’s pretty easy to work with, although I thought it was strange that it was folded up and not in a long roll like thick wrapping paper like most other brands that I’ve bought of this type of landscaping fabric. I find the rolls to be easier and faster to just roll out than this style. With this one it needs to be unfolded, cut, and then spread like a picnic blanket onto the ground. With the rolls you can sort of just put it on the ground and just kick it to unroll to where you want it. While this may seem silly, it becomes an issue to have less touch points with your hands for easier application when trying to smother poison ivy.In general I think the price is a little high, as I’ve seen it cheaper at local discount stores (similar brands, not this same one). The quality seems good though, and it hasn’t moved since I installed and stapled it on and only partially covered it so far.Overall I’d recommend them.
