Review on LIVLOV V6 Heart Rate Monitor Chest Strap - Bluetooth & ANT+ Heart Rate Sensor, Waterproof HR Monitor for Polar, Wahoo, Zwift, Peloton, DDP Yoga, Map My Ride, and Garmin Sports Watches by Diana Johnson

Accurate, reliable monitor at an entry-level price

Sometimes I buy Revain products at a lower price knowing they have an excellent return policy. That is exactly the case with this chest strap from Livlov. I ride exercise bikes at least 5 times a week and have just replaced a bike with heart rate sensors on the handlebars as the electronic display is completely broken after a few years of use. I switched to a good spinning rod, but it didn't have a built in heart rate sensor, which I think has its downsides anyway (e.g. not usually as accurate as chest monitors, needs to keep hands in one spot for sensors to work and measure heart rate). Pulse). I was a little skeptical about this monitor and when I first got it I found that the exercise phone app I downloaded lost the signal quite often for the first few days even though I washed the strap sensors with water beforehand had wetted . . . use. I also noticed that the CR2032 button battery indicator was dropping very quickly (tested on my multimeter), despite the manufacturer claiming a battery life of around 1 year. I returned the item but decided to order the same model again to see if I could get better results. I added another product to my order, this conductive gel for use with heart monitors: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06VWSS7KJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 With spare monitor and this gel I great have results! I have never lost a signal and the battery charge has been 96-100% for 2 months, with 5-6 training sessions per week. Now I am very happy with this product but I would also recommend buying a conductive gel for it. I only apply a small BB sized dab to each of the two electrode pads with each use. The price of the gel was very reasonable ($5.39) and at that price it will last me well over a year.
