Whilst these rods are good quality they are a terrible idea and can severely damage the sliding mechanism. They do help stabilize your caravan or fifth wheel, but at the cost of slipping gears. The chassis should support the extension, not the other way around. I did a little research and found that most RV manufacturers do not recommend using fold out legs and some will even void your warranty. The truth is that the new retractable parts are designed and built to support the weight without the need for additional jacks etc. You may feel better if you think you're losing some weight, but you're actually doing more harm than good. Don't take my word for it. Do your own research or call the van manufacturer.
