The old yellow plug-in lights in the basement need to be replaced. I've been looking for 2 years, I couldn't find it anymore. These false curtains have no draw hole. I ordered 4 shades on May 21st to try and drill a draw hole. Spirit moved me on 7/12/20. Measured from the rod to the center of the lamp. Darkening level measured 2 1/4" from the center hole and marked with a marker. Place the lampshade in a cloth-covered vise, support the rest of the lampshade with a block and hold with your hand. I used one 1" drill and drilled with a pulse drill. Hand sanded edges. 3 become perfect. On the last one I was overconfident and didn't have the vise tight enough so it hit me. The shadow has some curvature, so it can be fixed for drilling. Used a circular file in a drill bit to smooth my mistake into a teardrop shape. As it turned out, I have a non-standard device where the thrust is closer to the bulb, so measure every time. My mistake made the last shade I drilled perfect for cocking. With the fit of the latter, they seem to have helped me a bit. It can be done with patience, walking slowly, having courage without gaining confidence. It would be nice if the manufacturer offered the same product with a hole. I am very happy. It increased my craving for pure hues.
