We received these white and black skates and they are really great skates great for both sexes (we have 2 older girls and 2 younger boys and we were hoping to pass them on when they outgrown). Unfortunately, the design means these skates really don't have any inherent stability; Your knuckles will constantly rotate outward unless you're actively (strongly!) keeping them upright. My two daughters and I felt unstable and, like our ankles, they didn't support them well compared to my own pair of inline skates which have a wider base under the sole and offer much more stability and support. It really took the fun out of skating and they haven't shown any interest in using them since we first tried them. We didn't even open the box with the second pair; will try to return them and check the return policy for a used pair. Since they were specifically touted as stabilizing, we were very disappointed.
