The metal itself doesn't seem particularly thick or strong, but it still worked great for me: it's for indoor installation in my attic. In this environment I'm not afraid of rain or wind damage, so all I need is something (almost anything) to mount the antenna. That being said, this mount would probably still work well if it weren't exposed to extreme weather conditions. Installation was easy, a couple of screws threaded through holes in the base held it in place very firmly. The pivoting mechanism for the mounting post wasn't anything special, but it was smooth and easy to adjust and didn't budge after tightening. The only issue I had was that the U-bolts on my antenna were designed for thicker tubing, but that was 100% my fault as I hadn't looked at the specs and there was an easy fix with extra washers on the antenna thread was. .All in all I would definitely recommend this mount to anyone looking to mount a lightweight antenna!
