I made the best "dance party surprise" for my 8 year old by replacing 3 lamps in the dining room with black bulbs (and removing 2 others), using a black/neon paint splatter tablecloth (plastic) and used those clear neon plates/cups/dishes (plus a vase full of glowsticks) - everything was bright and delicious. So much fun, especially when the kids spotted each other's glowing teeth and bright white ice cream cake.
