6 month backpacker test

After 6 months of heavy use hiking in South America I am happy to report that this is still my favorite piece and is still in perfect condition located. Condition.PROS: Very thin and light, ideal for minimalists, takes up very little space. Wrinkles disappear after an hour of use. Warms perfectly as a base layer with just a sleeveless jacket in windy mountains at 40ft. With a proper wash (with wool soap) it dries in 2 hours or less and can be worn for many days without smelling. With sleeves rolled up and buttons undone, it's comfortable in temperatures up to 70 feet. Sweat stains are difficult to see on gray. It didn't stretch or shrink at all. Looks so good. CONS: Requires wool soap and no drying towels, difficult to arrange laundry service in hotels/hostels. After several washes with regular soap (removes protective lanolin) it itches and stinks faster. The body is fairly loose but the temples are tight (your mileage may vary). I haven't noticed any fraying or thread unraveling like other reviews have reported, maybe their quality control is better. This replaced 2-3 individual items in my tiny minimalistic pack. The look is the perfect mix of stylish and casual, with beautiful draping and very soft, thin fabric. I recommend hand washing with any wool soap, it dries quickly when traveling. Otherwise I've used the same home wash and dry settings as my regular cotton (but with wool soap) and never had a problem. Merino wool was sent from the gods, highly recommended! ๐Ÿ‘
