I installed this on my '94 Jeep Cherokee because I didn't have a transmission temp sensor. Once I figured out where I want to set the sender, it turned out to be a pretty easy setup. The hardest part was wiring and wiring. I speak a lot because of the awkward positions I had to put myself in to complete the task. I ended up installing a sensor at the transmission oil outlet just below the harmonic balancer on a rubber hose. Went to Lowe's quickly for brass fittings and an auto loom to run thin wire. But a very bright scale. It doesn't bother me and neither does anyone else. One thing to think about is that this sensor says it has 6 brightness settings. This only applies if you connect the sensor in a specific way as specified in the instructions. With my car, that was a bigger challenge than I actually wanted. However, I have 3 brightness settings. The 3 daylight settings are the only ones I can use unless I run additional wires through the firewall back to the underhood fuse box. I just used the under dash fuse panel to save time and effort.
