Excellent trans-temperature sensor.

I love this thing. I installed it in my old tbird some time ago. Production date on back was 2014. Worked great until I fried it by looking for a faulty brake light switch connector. The hot wire broke off the switch and shorted out near ground for my sensor. It's actually not too bright at night even without a dimmer plugged in. Pretty damn safe, according to my heat gun. The display on my new replacement just went blank. The bottom three bars are now always on.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • not reliable

The sensor works great, responds quickly and I love it - during the day. It's absolutely useless at night unless a broken sunglass lens is leaned in front of it :) I installed it in the dash just before driving and turned it off when it got dark. Yes, it's so bright and shines on you. If it was installed in the sensor on the A-pillar. Good luck :) Having said that, put a piece of dark plastic on top and go. That's great. I would definitely buy another one. The digital display is much better…

Complete garbage. I installed a sensor in my RV that.

Total rubbish. I installed the sensor in my RV that I only drive 3 times a year and it worked fine. I've had the meter for 2 years now. I had to replace a couple of lightbulbs on the dash and to do that the sensor had to be removed. I carefully tried to disconnect the pressure gauge, the power connector came out easily, the sensor connector was disconnected from the board. I tried to solder it again but to no avail. The warranty ended so I had to buy a new sensor. NO, I HAVE NOT BOUGHT ANOTHER…

99 super duty for Electrical

I ordered this sensor after replacing the transmission cooler lines to monitor their temperature and make sure everything is cooling properly. My first order came with all cables and sensors but no sensor. I sent a return and they shipped a new sensor the same day, no questions asked. You just have to throw the old one on the rail and send it back. I installed this on my 99 f250 superduty with a 4r100 transmission. It was easy to install if you have some wiring knowledge. The cables are a…

Great for the money but too bright.

Fantastic, especially for the price. I use my Dodge Ram V-10 to clear snow, which can be disastrous for automatic transmissions. Now I can monitor how hot it gets and let it cool down if needed. My gear seems to hover between 120 and 155 during "normal" driving. It gets to about 190 on long drives in heavy snow. I stop plowing hard at this temperature to allow it to cool during normal driving. I had a local trans. The shop plugged the sensor into a connector on my transmission and I hooked up…

Nice looking electrical gauge

I bought this gauge to monitor the transmission oil temperature while towing a 4300 lb boat on my 2003 Ford Explorer. I bought a deep Trick Flow drive from Summit Racing (sorry Revain, they don't have it in stock!) and installed it as well. I had a friend touch the 1/8 NPT fitting (for the temp sensor) on the back of the sump. I installed this sensor (along with the Max Tow engine oil temp sensor) on the front end of the console. (See image) Temperature while towing on 95 degree days stays…

Nice thermometer! on gauge sets

I installed this on my '94 Jeep Cherokee because I didn't have a transmission temp sensor. Once I figured out where I want to set the sender, it turned out to be a pretty easy setup. The hardest part was wiring and wiring. I speak a lot because of the awkward positions I had to put myself in to complete the task. I ended up installing a sensor at the transmission oil outlet just below the harmonic balancer on a rubber hose. Went to Lowe's quickly for brass fittings and an auto loom to run thin…
