I bought these to turn the headrest strips on and off and they look great! The light turns on when you turn it to the on position. They also handle 12V well, but with caution. If you've tried soldering wires to them, don't heat them for too long as the plastic at the base of the pins could start to melt and come loose. There is a darker one on one end (this is the ground for the LED) and the other two are lighter silver. If you supply power to the middle pin/pin, the LED will always light up, but if you connect an external silver pin/pin, the LED will only turn on if it is activated (on).
