Great product (although I love their entire line). VERY sharp out of the box. I believe the edge is laser cut. Polished blade. .great value for money and I'll be damned if I can't find anything wrong with this knife. I have used a variety of blades for camping, hunting and survival expeditions for over 30 years and Morakniv is quickly becoming one of my favorite brands. Personally, I am embarrassed that a friend brought their existence to my attention as I had never heard of them before. I have quite a few folders and fixed blade "tools" some of which I paid multiples of the price for, but many were too thick to camp. Yes, I could chop down a tree :-), but I couldn't chop food, so I took more than one knife with me on my walks. I find this particular knife to be an excellent all-around compromise.
