The purpose of this cable is to allow you to use a Type-C cable on an old mini USB device. So I bought it to convert my old Cooler Master Quick Fire Rapid from Mini USB to Type C. However, I wanted it to look flush, so I cored the cable down to the exposed components (no sleeve or strain relief, just wire). and connector) so that it fits properly under the circuit board. Thus, the Type-C cable is connected directly to the keyboard frame. I cut out a small piece of the plastic bezel to allow for a wider Type-C connector and hot glue this adapter. I then moved the original circuit board with the mini USB connector to the side so it wouldn't press down on the circuit board after I closed everything. I use a layer of neoprene liner to muffle keyboard noise when the keys are pressed down (O-rings help, but the liner helps even more), so the extra room helps. Once I got everything laid out, I used non-conductive tape to secure everything in place. The picture included in my review shows what it looks like when you remove the circuit board. When everything is closed it looks completely flush. I made a similar modification to my Cooler Master MasterKeys Pro L RGB, but the MicroUSB to Type-C conversion was much easier. Now I can easily switch between three keyboards without having to find the right cable. now they are all type C!
