Review on πŸ“± Symcode Bluetooth Wireless Barcode Scanner - Portable Handheld CCD Reader for POS/Android/iOS/iMac/Ipad by Dustin Miller

Great wireless barcode reader. Long battery life, long range.

I have this barcode scanner to catalog a huge stack of books and instead of manually entering book ISBN numbers, I can scan book barcodes and enter them directly into the library software. The scanner comes well packed in a box. It comes with a good charge status and is accompanied by a USB charging cable (not a standard mini USB but a USB printer cable) and a tiny USB dongle. It beeps when it registers a barcode and double beeps when you're out of range of the computer. It scans with a red side laser that turns off when the trigger is released. For a fairly cheap barcode scanner, this really works. Excellent workmanship, almost unlimited battery life on a single charge and excellent results. Not a single error (I don't know if these things ever make errors reading a barcode) and a distance of about 10m before the connection drops. This also works with the supplied cable connected directly to the PC, but I didn't have to try it. It installs itself on Windows 10, but it takes about 1 minute to detect and install the driver, which succeeded without any problems. Quality feel, bluetooth is great too and connects to my phone very quickly.

Pros
  • CCD imaging technology. This wireless CCD barcode scanner has an advanced digital imaging function that can identify the 1D code on the screen. Effectively compensates for the problem that the 1D scanner cannot identify the code on the screen. Support HID protocol, SPP protocol and BLE protocol. Visible red light 632 nm LED, scanning speed 200 times/second.
