UPDATE: EYEFI-2 has stopped communicating. It was sporadic for a few weeks and then stopped altogether. I contacted tech support and they tell me they are having problems with the server. A few days later I still haven't heard from tech support and they haven't responded to a request for more information or an update on server issues. I would stay away from this product for now. This review applies to both directional and non-directional airframes. I just bought this Eyedro for directional monitoring because I have a solar array with grid inverters. I connected it to WiFi as described. I have a little text on the screen that says success. The documentation assumes this is your first install, so you will be prompted to download the app and create an account. I already had two omnidirectional monitors installed. The installation documentation didn't help connecting the new device, so I had to figure it out, which I ended up doing. I then looked at all three. When monitoring direction, I found that I could flip the sensors to read positive or negative power, so I chose the positive grid power and the solar power returning to the negative grid as it is much smaller. Now that all three are up and running, I'm happy to monitor. Now for the reason I only gave three stars. Current transformers connected to power lines are poorly designed. Three of the four non-directional current transformers were not saved or read. I found that the plastic casing around the iron core needed some tweaking. It helped three. The fourth did not adjust at all and eventually collapsed. There are two plastic protrusions on top of the current transformer that press on the iron core. I used a screwdriver and pryed them up, releasing the pressure on the iron core and allowing it to rise allowing the CT to close and latch into place. The fourth core's plastic casing was manufactured incorrectly, which prevented the core from adapting. The first time I had trouble closing CT, I contacted tech support. They told me I didn't push him enough to snap him and other excuses until I finally convinced them that I knew what I was doing and that no one was going to snap no matter what. They sent me one in the mail that clicked right into place. Now I monitor the main energy coming in as instructed. The main shield in the house and the water heater. My overall rating is easy to install, easy to use (except adding a new device to the app) and the monitoring suits my needs. Product quality is below average (poorly designed CTs) and tech support is overprotective of their products. I should mention that I went to the Eyedro website to purchase a CT scan when I was having so many tech support issues. It was $19 for CT and (from what I remember) $30 for shipping and handling!
