The stools no longer look like Alvar Aalto's stools. I choose to return. I downgraded my rating from 5 to 3 stars. May 30, 2021 1st update. I first bought these natural birch stools 3 years ago. They continue to patinate beautifully. However, I recently bought a third order! Incredibly, the new version of the stool is unusual, as is the improved excellent packaging (thick, heavy cardboard, foam between pre-assembled stools, all wrapped in bubble wrap). Unlike previous acquisitions, Aalto's design replica is exactly the same size as vintage stools from around 50 years ago, with the seat as wide as the legs. The curvature of the legs is the same as that of Alvar Aalto's vintage stools. The hardware is a bit different, but actually much better. For those who may find this to be a problem, they should not be looked at unless they are turned upside down and examined. I have increased my original 4 star rating to 5 stars. My only complaint is that after a few months they loosen up. Luckily, adjusting the screws underneath can be done quickly and easily.
