Great solution for older dogs. This is the perfect heating pad for an older dog with chronic arthritis. My vet suggested a heating pad for my 8 lb dog. He is 13 years old and has been diagnosed with severe arthritis. I've tried several electric models, but they all fail for two reasons. First, they all feel plasticky and my dog slips, or (second) the subtle electrical heat gets hot. An older dog cannot leave a heated pad, so it can be very dangerous. This pillow is great. It has a soft cotton upper and is heated only by body heat. My old lady loves it! Seems to really ease his discomfort.
