I bought these mufflers to replace a Flowmaster Delta 40 on my Oldsmobile 350. The engine is heavily modified with aluminum heads, long manifolds, camshaft, etc. In the car, the entire floor is soundproofed with Dynomat under carpet. The Flowmaster mufflers were so loud that it was difficult to have a conversation while driving in the car. It didn't even sound "good loud" to me. I received Magnaflow mufflers and was frustrated at first. Magnaflow mufflers have a curved internal tube that allows you to see straight through the muffler. I reluctantly installed them and started the car. They have a nice deep sound that's a bit louder than a turbo muffler. When you step on the gas, they don't bark or hit, they just take care of it. The Flowmasters actually seem to make the auto louder than straight pipes when fully open. No Magnaflows, they sound great across the range. I'm not sure how they do it, but they did it.
