Review on Thetford 34100 Style Water Valve by David Lesperance

This part was purchased to replace a broken valve in our Thetford RV toilet. Everything went fine with the installation (which didn't happen a week or two after receipt). But within 1-2 weeks the plastic holding the case together started to peel off with normal use. I contacted Thetford directly via the online form for assistance as I didn't know if it could actually be returned after use. I realized that after 2 weeks I still hadn't heard from them (and of course you didn't get the form submission confirmation email). And now it looks like my returns window has closed as well (at least for a day). Terrible product and equally terrible support. It seems Thetford can't even produce viable replacement parts for its products. Or maybe their intention is to force us all to buy brand new products instead of fixing existing ones. And not responding to product support requests in a timely manner, hoping that by then we'll lose our return deadlines. I definitely don't want to deal with Thetford again, that's for sure. I think I will look for a new product to install in my RV. The one not connected to Thetford. UPDATE 3/6/21 I called Thetford direct after not receiving a response to my initial email inquiry. They kindly sent me a replacement part free of charge. However, this was done with the caveat that they are currently out of stock and will take 4-6 weeks to ship. Finally got my part at the end of March. Installation before May 11th failed. Everything seemed to be working until it broke on 3/6/21 - this time with just over 3 weeks of use (woo - almost double the first time). The part broke in EXACTLY the same place as the part previously ordered. It's clear Thetford needs to rethink QC design and manufacturing - supplying repetitive parts costs them more than producing a part that gets the job done. Not to mention all the dissatisfied customers (very clear from the reviews of this product). Will no longer order from Thetford (now or in the future) and will be looking for another toilet solution for my motorhome.
