Use this in my Craftsman brand store. I used it once for Grandma's spring cleaning and damn I vacuumed a lot of dust and dirt (I think I vacuumed 10 feathers lol). I inspected the filter underneath and it looked brand new. I can't check for loss of suction, I have a medium-sized 3.0 HP vacuum cleaner. Haven't used this on drywall yet but it's thick enough I think will do. I've never tried the non-HD version, so don't know the difference in performance. I can tell everyone my filter is lasting significantly longer so for the price compared to changing the filter this is definitely a buy. As I don't have the full experience of using it I can't give 5 stars at the moment but I have a feeling I'll be buying one at the end of the summer. :)
