As a mother of four EBF babies I have tried many breastfeeding products. While no single-use nursing pads can match the softness, comfort, and reusable cost-effectiveness of washable cotton or bamboo options, fully waterproof, well-fitting single-use nursing pads are a must. Especially in the first months of breastfeeding, when your diet stabilizes, you will feel miserable and tired from nasty and uncomfortable leaks, especially at night. These Medela pads are the most comfortable brands I've tried, and they're more absorbent than their older (round) Lansinoh designs. However, they also aren't as flattering under a bra/shirt as cup pads - you'll try to shape them a bit unless you're wearing a thick/soft bra over them. can be attributed more to my own lack of sleep as a new mom - mostly when I put 'girls' in quickly after breastfeeding, the pads sometimes fold and cause some leakage and - sometimes - adhesive transfer to the skin which can obviously be uncomfortable to remove and create a problem for a baby who may accidentally swallow if not seen before feeding. Strong for what they are, in the total 5 years I've been raising my kids I've only had 3 or 4 cases of one because they ripped the bra leaving some of the transparent absorbent beads on my skin. Also, and you'll thank me later, ALWAYS make sure these pads are removed from your clothes before throwing them in the wash, unless you're passionate about trying to get the millimeters on the clear absorbent ball off the walls of the to rub washing machine. In all honesty, if you're breastfeeding, you already know very well that none of us have time for it.
