Review on FosPower Speaker Connectors Receiver Amplifiers by Juan Simpson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Elevates the humble banana fork to the level of art!

I never thought I would admire the quality of such a simple product but I'm so happy I finally bought a set of connectors to connect my 7.2 speaker system to the amplifier. As you can see from the photo uploaded, the back of my Sony Home Theater AV Receiver is quite narrow. While the wires can be attached to the posts as screw terminals - by inserting the bare (and tinned) ends of the wires through a hole in the post and hand-tightening the caps on the post - the wires end up at right angles to the back of the post. a panel that creates tangled wires and electrically marginal connections. These commercial quality gold plated marvels use two opposing and slightly offset screws that hold the wire firmly in the connector while providing good electrical conductivity. (Be careful not to turn the set screws all the way out as they are difficult to put back in without crossing them.) Other beautifully designed features include a high quality, knurled cap that is easy to grip and slide comfortably from the end of the plug it doesn't need to be placed on the wire beforehand - a solution to two common problems: a short piece of wire comes out of the cable so you have to put a cap on the wire first, making it difficult to attach the wire to the connector, or attach the cable only to realize you forgot to put the cap on the cable first :-). Beautifully crafted knurled caps screw down securely, making it easy to grasp the connector for insertion or removal. Just three minor issues: 1) When putting the cap on the front of the fork, the fork end contact area gets scratched on the surface. Internal thread of the lid, possible scratching of the gilding. 2) Although each pair of individually packaged plugs is carefully marked with red and gray polarization markers to ensure correct speaker phasing, I found it difficult to distinguish the colors of the markers in the shaded area on the back. my amp. I decided to wrap the positive covers in red electrical tape. 3) Hex head screws instead of slotted screws would be a better choice, but not if they would add significantly to the price of the product.
