Review on GSI Outdoors Ultralight Java Drip: ☕️ Optimal Drip Coffee Solution for Camping and Backpacking by Joe Garczynski

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best cup of coffee on the route!

I've tried many types of coffee brewing while hiking/biking/camping, from Coghlans mini coffee filters to French presses and more, and the GSI Ultra Light Drip Irrigation is without a doubt the best solution for personal use . and I would say also for small groups. It could be attached to any cup or mug I've tried and brewed a delicious cup of coffee in no time. I would recommend experimenting at home to determine the right amount of coffee grounds to get the desired strength (I use Cafe Bustello Espresso which requires very little coffee grounds). This also works for small groups of people, either individually or preferably when everyone has their own. My French Press from GSI weighs 9.4 ounces and this Java Drip weighs only 0.4 ounces so even for a group of people each carrying their own it's still a lot lighter than a French Press and a lot simpler and easier is to be cleaned. If you're like me, you'll also find that you use it at home as much as you use it on the trail (or more, because if you're also like me you unfortunately have to spend a lot more time at home than on the trail). This is ideal for those evenings when you only need one cup when using a machine or French press would be overkill. The Java drip is very durable if you pack it carefully so it doesn't get squished the wrong way. I've probably made over 50 cups of coffee with it and it shows no signs of wear. I highly recommend getting one for yourself and all your coffee loving friends, even if they're not camping!
