So you should put them on over your shoes although you can keep your shoes on and when you walk around the house you will automatically mop the floors (no carpets or rugs) Dirt, dust, etc. And they work like any cloth, picking up fine dust and dirt as you run them across a dirty surface. While they don't lift much at all, at the same time you have to make sure you don't slip or fall while walking or sliding (great exercise if you do slip!). They also don't hold much collected debris, so when taking them off you have to be careful not to let any of the debris you just collected fall back onto the floor. I personally think it's a waste of time, effort and money. Out of curiosity I went back to the same spots with a swiffer (I also use reusable micro wipes as S "wipes" can be expensive) and the amount of dirt picked up was more than I thought it would be. So I'm not impressed, but I understand how and why some people would be impressed.
