Bought for my cat in place of the usual cone, works surprisingly well. Not only does this keep my cat from licking his front paw (he has a wound that needs healing) but it also helps him find new and unexpected ways to nap, something I thought he would have with exhausted himself. A few technical details - the cat weighs 13.5 pounds and the size Small fits him well. When wearing a collar, he cannot reach his face/ears or abdomen. He can reach the paws and part of the leg. If you turn the collar over (so the "hole" is on the back) my cat can't fully reach the front paws and legs, but she can still reach some of the back paws but not the legs. This can also vary depending on your cat's physique/flexibility, I have a shorthaired house cat. While this may not completely replace a regular cone, I can use it for most occasions when a cat needs one. And it doesn't stop him from eating/drinking/sleeping or walking. Definitely recommend it!
