The dealer only had one FOB when I bought my 2010 F150 and they didn't want to spend the outrageous amount of money they wanted on a second one. I ordered them with little hesitation. Some reviewers said they only received the case and keypad with no internal electronics. I took the plunge anyway and upon delivery was grateful to have found two that I thought contained electronics. The instructions were simple and clear. Setup was easy and literally took 30 seconds. On my truck, you simply open the driver's door, press the unlock button, turn the key to the position just before the car starts and back to the off position 8 times within 20 seconds, turning it to the on position for the eighth time to let . Then take new key fobs and press the lock button once on each. Every time you press the button for each device, you lock the doors, you know they are in sync. Make sure to re-sync your original keychain if you have one. Oh, and make sure you don't press the brake pedal during these steps. Some of the reviewers also mentioned that you have to be fairly close to the vehicle to get them to work. I have found that this is not the case. I tested them with my original FOB and they worked just as long. All in all, you can't go wrong with them. Even if you don't have a need right now, you can spend $10 and get two to have a backup on hand.
