Review on KLIM Puma Surround Integrated Vibrations Virtual Reality by Cheska Perry

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Decent price but not enough for certain conditions

For background, I'm not a professional audio engineer or editor in chief, however I have a degree in video production which gave me a lot of experience with related audio products. I have a musical background and good hearing. I needed a headset a few years ago so I bought a cheap Xiberia K5 gaming headset to see if I could find one that would work well on a budget. Video editing, audio monitoring, music and video game shooting with approach sounds. I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of the headset given the low price, but it has accumulated a few issues over the years of use that made me look for another headset on the market. I wanted to find another budget headset that was surprisingly good value for money. So I bought 7 interesting budget gaming headphones in the $25-$75 price range to compare and find the best one for my needs (KLIM Puma, Razer Blackshark V2, Razer Kraken Tournament Edition, Sennheiser EPOS GSP 302, Xiberia K5, Xiberia V20). Xiberia V22). Again, my desire was to find something for target shooters and music listeners. I needed something versatile that would allow me to enjoy gaming while still being professional enough to use for business video conferencing. I tested these headphones for sound quality, functionality and wearing comfort. For the best comparison, I played the same music, video clips, and games with the same settings. I've broken my findings down into several helpful sections below if you're looking for something specific: Looks and Feels. functionality. Microphone. Feels like the headset looks nice and stylish. The upper is a little wild when you use it in a professional work environment, but that's not a bad thing. No excessive colors or logos which is a plus. When you put them on, the band that goes over your head has joints on either side that stretch like a rubber band. It's very light and doesn't put too much pressure on your head, but due to the elastic band, it will always be pressed on your head, giving you a headband. The ear pads are large so you can put your ear to the earcup and feel the vibrations. It almost felt like I was just pressing my ears against two pieces of foam because it doesn't look like a regular earcup, it's flatter in relation to the ear. It's a little odd to get used to, and it diminishes its ability to reduce interior noise. Of the 7 headsets I tested, they offer the least amount of background noise cancellation. Functionality The cable is medium length, with a nylon sheath made from a more durable material that will, however, bend over time. There is a built-in volume control and a microphone mute button. You can use the slider to increase the volume significantly, which is nice. The biggest functional downside of this headset for me was that the USB connector was very sticky when plugged into my USB port, to the point where I felt like I was doing something wrong. It was so bad that I ended the test early because I didn't want to force it to continue. All of my other USB headsets ran very smoothly, unlike this one. I didn't want to mess up the USB port on my PC. It was probably just a defective item, but it's unfortunate that it limited my testing. Microphone At first I thought the microphone was pretty good at reducing ambient noise in the room, but I think it's just due to the fact that the output volume is very low. vicinity. After turning the volume up, you hear quite a bit of noise, not even room noise, but digital artifact noise. Voice quality sounds good overall, but the digital distortion is annoying when the volume is turned up to normal levels. This is a longer mic that can be adjusted to the top position, but doesn't flex if you want to adjust the distance from your face. Sound - game / music. Overall, the sound was deeper than some other cheap mics I've tested. , but it still didn't sound very clear, especially the low notes. The upper registers sounded pretty good, but the bass sounded almost hoarse, like a heavily compressed mp3 audio clip. The best picture I can give is that it all sounded like it was right in front of my head, like a massive headache. Listening to music sounds decent, but in-game audio sounds terrible. Overall it was a defective unit so I decided to return it but other than that I still wouldn't keep it due to the issues listed above. This might suit you if you just need decent sound for music or a decent mic for chatting.
