Yummy Waffles Best for Small Appliances

I have a great little waffle maker that I really like, but when my relatives are done working I can't crank it up fast enough. About 6 months ago I spent over $120 on a fancy waffle maker with interchangeable faceplates that allowed me to make waffles, pannini fry, etc. from the chef's catalogue. In short, I hated it. Spent $100 on a piece of junk. I've cooked mushy waffles that weren't crispy, the nonstick coating had worn off, and the plates never lay flat. All I really needed was a second little pony with a trick that made good waffles. So i found it. I thought the waffle stick would be a neat trick, but didn't think I'd use it often. I've had this waffle maker for a week now and use it every day. It has quickly become my favorite of the three I own. Reasons I like it: The cord is long. The cable on my first is very short in comparison, giving me a little more headroom on my rack. It heats up enough to make a crispy waffle that's still moist on the inside. Waffle irons definitely don't have temperature controls, so you're kind of at their mercy. If they aren't hot enough you will either see what looks like bread or dry out to look more like toast. It gets hot enough to have a crispy crust on the outside while still retaining enough moisture in the waffle to actually appear like a waffle. This actually makes them crispy enough to turn into waffle sticks. The non-stick surface works. It's easy to clean. There are recipes in the instruction manual, although any cookbook recipe or commercial dough should work just fine. Use your favorite - no waffle iron makes a recipe you don't like taste better. It takes me about 5 minutes to bake two waffles, of course this depends on the amount of moisture in your recipe. If more than 4 people are waiting for breakfast, they will not be helped quickly enough. but it's cheap enough - buy two. I wish I could do that and save the $120 I spent on an expensive piece of junk.
