No, it's not quilted 4-ply paper soaked in lavender-scented vitamin E lotion. So if you're looking for luxury, you should probably head there. This is a simple, practical two-ply paper. It's very soft - not scratchy at all and fairly durable, at least for toilet paper. Overall, this is a very good toilet paper. What I liked the most is that it is boxed and comes in paper and cardboard only. Apart from the packing tape that keeps the box closed, no plastic is used in the packaging and therefore no huge chunks of plastic end up in landfill. Each roll is individually wrapped in discreet paper to keep them clean during storage, and the slim design means a few spare rolls can be stored discreetly on a small shelf in my bathroom. I have repurchased this paper 3 times since my original purchase. and I didn't have the same issue as the previous reviewer who said he had to rip off a few layers to get started. The beginning of the roll is glued to the layer behind it in a small strip, but there is a piece of paper you can pull to release. Sometimes the layers don't separate and two layers come off the roll instead, but that's what you were going to use anyway, right? OK, don't be fooled. This is good, economical toilet paper that doesn't use unnecessary plastic packaging. Highly recommended
