Review on Powerful Metro Vacuum MDV-1BA DataVac Pro 4.5-AMP: Ultimate Computer Vac/Blower by Robert Ryokan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great unit, minor issues

First off, it's a powerful vacuum/blower and I love it. I originally bought this to dust Mom and Dad's computers during their inevitable annual formatting and maintenance since they live in a house full of exotic parrots (which produce very fine daddy dust) and a few dogs. Because of this, I needed something that could not only blow fine dust off heatsinks and fans, but also suck out hard-to-reach clumps of dust and hairballs. This machine is excellent on both counts and I've even started using it as a handheld vacuum around my apartment due to its size and power compared to my anemic and leaking Shark SV75Z_N. Because of the tremendous suction power of this thing, I can even get under the baseboard heaters without any accessories. However: This vacuum cleaner heats up so quickly that even the drain hose gets hot. However, I let it run for a few minutes and it didn't heat up to the point where it was uncomfortable. The guide should probably mention this, as well as safe runtime. The hose that comes with the kit is short and uncomfortable to use. The shoulder strap simply wraps around the handle (no instructions or obvious attachment points as far as I can tell), it's small and fragile and slips a bit. I haven't seen a better one on the MV website so I'll look for scuba belts or something like that so I can clean my computer and servers with two hands available. Rubber pads only on the front, not on the back. I didn't notice any stability problems. It's not a quiet device either, as it roars and whistles, but for all its power, it's more than bearable. Overall I am very satisfied and surprised with this device and would recommend it to any professional.
