The defective lightbulb was used in a two-socket ceiling fan. The fan was only used for testing purposes after the initial installation. Therefore, fan vibration was not a contributing factor to the failure as the fan has not been used since the new LED bulbs were first installed. The lamp is not connected to a dimmer. The fixture is a solid fixture that has been used reliably for many years and worked well with incandescent bulbs prior to the installation of LED bulbs. LED bulbs have replaced incandescent bulbs for energy efficiency and supplemental lighting. Another LED lamp installed at the same time as the failed lamp still works. I hope this premature failure is not a sign of the overall reliability of this product. Update: Five of the six lamps have failed. The sixth is still in the box and unused.
