I occasionally carry a passenger on my bike, but most of the time I'm the only person on my bike. This backrest allows you to position it for the driver and have a small luggage rack above where the passenger would normally sit. When it's time to carry your passenger, simply fold up the seatback. You still have access to a small luggage rack behind the passenger. It looks great and works well. The chrome version looks great (in my opinion) on my bike, almost like a "standard" Willie G HArley Davidson accessory. Like all Kuryakyn accessories, these items are definitely not given away, but I think it's worth the money.
