Great Little Drive - Computers and Accessories

Received it today and haven't used it in a while but first impressions are great. I booted up my Mac Pro, plugged it in and immediately mounted it. I've shut down and restarted my computer or woken from hibernation multiple times and the device mounted and worked properly each time (I know some reviewers have said that it won't mount on wake from hibernation, etc.). This unit is VERY small, smaller than I expected and as others have said when plugged in almost flush to the side of the laptop - so it's not a drive you'll want to unplug and remove often. It's very unobtrusive and has massive storage capacity for its physical size. I plan on keeping mine as a permanent secondary storage device. I copied several large folders of files into mine and transferred the data quickly and easily. Seems to be a great product so far. Update - I liked the 128GB version so much that I bought the 256GB version to replace it as the first one was almost full. The original had to be digged out with a fingernail, which took some effort (which is good - it's tight and there's no chance of it falling out on its own). I copied all my files to an external drive and then to a new JetDrive330 and everything works great. I mainly use it for my growing collection of movies (videos and movies that take up a lot of space) and pictures. There is a nifty Mac app called Tunespan that allows you to save iTunes media files to different locations and transparently play them from iTunes. This worked great for me as my MacBook Pro only has one 256GB internal drive and I was actually able to double it.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Good overall but...
