Bought as a present for my niece for Christmas. She took it home and adjusted it only to find it wouldn't spin and brought it back to see if I could get it to work. It is a strip that connects the platter that spins the platter, connected to the rotating member, which in turn spins the platter. This band is not held by anything, so it falls off very easily. You must have almost microscopic hands to reach in and reattach the strap. If you ever pick it up or accidentally move the platter, the belt will fall back down and not spin. A simple edge on a slab could easily fix this if not well designed. However, the sound quality was great and it was very easy to use.
