Revainrating 4 out of 5

May not suit your application without some adjustment

This drain and filter appears to be well made and durable. Installation is fairly easy, however the button may not work in some sink configurations. I will explain. If your sink has a noticeable drain hole, the new knob probably won't fit. pushed down far enough that they can be locked and unlocked without removing the entire assembly (which is a design feature of this drain, but only to clear the strainer, not push the button). This might just be a minor inconvenience for some, but if you're buying this to function with one hand as a button, do you really want to pull that thing out of the drain, press the button, and then put it back in? Yes it will work and it's not difficult but it doesn't allow for 5 star rating. I bought two of these for Kohler sinks with fairly deep drain holes. As said, they are pretty easy to install, thankfully because there are hardly any instructions. After installation I tried to press the button but no, I couldn't press the button far enough to activate the click mechanism and I immediately saw the reason as I explained above. The outer edge of the drain cap hit the raised sides of the sink drain and could not be pressed hard enough to "click in". However, being an unsurpassed self-taught, I didn't want to give up and send them back without even trying to get them to work. In the process I found two methods as I bought two of them and both worked. The first sink, since it was already installed, caused the technique to "screw the filter basket back (down) as far as possible to increase the overall length of the assembly just enough for it to work." In fact, this increased the length of the assembly by about 1/8 inch. I also removed the filter basket completely from the assembly and "flexed" the filter threads a bit so the fit is tight and won't loosen over time. I'd say it's probably a good thing, even if you go with the second method. The second method was to replace the supplied (rather flimsy) silicon top gasket with the bottom gasket from the old drain. In my case, it proved This turned out to be a perfect fit and the much greater thickness raised the entire drain fitting high enough in the drain to reduce the "squeezing effect" of the drain hole. I assume you can buy something suitable at your local (unnamed) hardware store of choice. If your sink is shallower in the drain, you probably obviously won't have any problems at all and you'll find it 5 stars. In general, the new gutters look very nice and modern. The obvious benefit is the removal of the flush plug mechanism from the inside of the gutter, which naturally traps hair and debris and eventually clogs, and is the main reason plumbers are called in to unclog a clogged drain for those that are uncomfortable take water. empty and clean from time to time. The strainer basket feels pretty tight and can clog even quicker than a standard drain plug, but since it just needs to be pulled from the drain, emptied the contents into a trash can and rinsed, I'd say the aforementioned plumber callers will be happy, eh easy it is. Finally, my wife also liked the way it looked, such a huge win for me and I'm glad I didn't let a small design flaw stop me. Oh iGanya!
