They sent a replacement, but did not have time to visit my guests. I sent the replacement back and was instructed to dispose of the non-working fan. The problem turned out to be the remote control was out of sync with the fan. The electrician installed many fans for me and they all worked previously - he eventually found what he thought was the problem - the antennas were hidden inside - so he brought them outside. the skylight came on by itself - I turned it off and an hour later it came on again! I walked into the room and found the fan was off. I tried turning it back on and after a couple of hours it went off or the light was on (when nobody was in the room!). after a day or two it stopped working. It was nice but unreliable in a hot Florida guest room. I went to the store and bought a silver Stratus blanket strap - worked great on the first try.
