The product itself is well made for my dog and I expect it to last a very very long time. She weighs 8.2 pounds and likes to relax and look around. I think the life expectancy of the booster is shortened in two scenarios: a) if the dog goes over the 11 lb limit (they seem to be pretty much right in their weight limit) b) if the dog tends to move around a lot Vehicle that constantly presses on the insides or climbs on top of the frame. My only suggestion would be to replace the front panel with the same mesh as the sides for forward visibility. I raised the booster about 12 inches onto a sturdy box to support the floor and used the booster's brackets and harness so my dog could look out the windows.
