I own a 2017 TCL Roku TV with a stunningly exquisite design and a great remote control. So last week I bought this 2021 TCL Android for my brother and it's a natural disaster. It was designed by people who don't use remote controls or watch TV, I swear. They removed all the useful and practical features from previous TCL TVs. 1) There is no mute button. You have to turn down the volume every time you want to mute the sound. Then raise it again to increase the volume again. π₯΄2) The subtitles option is hidden in two levels of the menu at the bottom of the list. Out of sight unless you scroll further down. π I often use subtitles when I'm on the phone, or during a press release I just don't want to hear any sound but read what's being said. 3) Digital TV program information does not appear when a button is pressed, as in the previous TCL. TV. Instead, you have to open the settings and go down two levels to find the EPR button and then enable it. Then you have to go through the list and choose a TV program and then it will show you what the story is about, what the program is about. etc., another incredible design mistake π π .4) the biggest design mistake of all. The remote control buttons have none of the distinctive features of previous TCL remote controls. It's very hard to figure out where the various buttons you use all the time are located. When not looking at the remote, my fingers have a hard time finding the right buttons. In the most common, they are difficult to distinguish. This TCL remote for Android is the worst of the most cumbersome remotes I've ever used. I have to turn on the light and look at it every time to find the right button, otherwise I'll do something wrong with my fingers. 5) then. ADDING DISASTERS AND PAIN TO THE SITUATION. I read on TCL website that these TCL Android Smart TVs had security issues. The thing is that with this android tv you program your google account in it and so the tv actually has your google account info like B. Your YouTube, email and other things. Apparently people found a way to hack it. How Do You Spell DISASTER DESIGN? Today I'm bringing back this half-baked design! I'm bringing back that clumsy, user-unfriendly mumbo-jumbo TV. Apparently they didn't do any field testing with real users. This thing was put into production before any real testing and refinement, and it really shows. I ordered a 2019 ROKU TCL which is a great TV.
