Review on Vacplus 1,500 Sq. Ft. Dehumidifier - Efficient 30 Pints with Drain Hose and Humidity Control for Medium Spaces, Basements - VA-D1903 by Ted Slaughter

I loved the size/weight/color/shape as soon as I took it out of the box. Dehumidifiers are not new to me; In my experience they've always been big, ugly, heavy, bulky and very noisy. This device is small and light enough that I can put it on a small chest in the middle of my basement. This allows me to place it where it works most efficiently without taking up all of the space like a larger box would. It's stable enough to spin the wheels without fear of tipping or rolling. While it's certainly not quiet, it's the quietest compressor dryer I've ever heard. We can easily watch TV and chat around the room while it runs at high power. A top-mounted exhaust with an adjustable flap to direct flow is another nice feature. I have only two improvements that I could spontaneously suggest. First, it's a longer and more durable drain pipe. If you cannot place the unit where the drain is only a meter or so away, you will need to purchase a longer hose. It was also slightly kinked, which could become a problem after a while since the tube walls are also thin. Secondly, to prevent the beep from sounding when the tank is empty. Provide that or a switch for it. But it's not really a problem. Very happy with this purchase.
