These products are sometimes difficult to justify because after all it's not a computer, TV, phone or audio system; it's just a cable. But no, it's not just a cable. This is the gateway to simplifying the rest of your entertainment. Most cables that come with an eGPU are ridiculously short, around a foot in most cases. It's terribly restrictive and even makes basic setup that much harder when you don't have a car next to you. This cable was a real blessing as it allowed me to harness the power of the eGPU while sitting comfortably on the couch. Most of the time I don't even hear it running. Yes, it's expensive, but since it costs and gives you a full 40Gb/s but almost 6x the length, it's not a problem. It's very well made, fits well and doesn't come out easily when casually sipping, and even has a soft, leathery feel. If you're not sure, just jump in and grab one. The extra length never hurts when flexibility is required.
