These devices have a very simple design. Anyone with woodworking skills can build these themselves and at a fraction of the cost. $39.99 for both is a bit exorbitant, especially considering one of the pairs I received was uneven. Also, they are very light - not what you would expect from a solid wood item. In fact, they are so light that I couldn't hang them as intended, ie a hole in the back to hook onto a screw/nail driven into the wall. In addition, I drilled a hole in the bottom front and screwed it to the wall to make it strong. It should also be noted that these are wooden candle holders, which means that there will be an open flame next to the tree. The wood gets hot but I've seen nothing but concerns as I've been lighting candles all day with no problems.
