We bought this grinder because my wife can't eat gluten. So let's grind quinoa and other small grains to make gluten free bread. I think it'll be good for that, but he's definitely not ready to chase things like that. To grind fine grains, you need to feed them slowly by hand. The problem with this is that the machine spits out small grist from the filling opening and scatters it all over the room. I called customer service and the woman told me the only answer was to spend another $20 plus shipping for an adapter (a small piece of PVC pipe). It obviously costs them next to nothing, but it seems to be a profit center for them. If you don't plan to just grind wheat, budget another $20. I am very disappointed that they just didn't include this part for the grinder that advertises that it can grind so many different types of grain.
