These radios are too difficult for children. In order for them to connect, they both need to be on the same channel, and switching channels isn't easy. With kids pressing buttons all the time, it's all too easy to disconnect from the same channel and so they can't even get it to work properly. I realize this is a minor user error, but they are children. Definitely not suitable for small children.
