I was looking for an "advanced" code reader. I know the Think brand and it seemed to me that this standalone device is perfect for all needs. (Standalone i.e. no separate module, phone or app required). First, make sure you set up the reader correctly by creating an account and updating it using a computer. This ensures that you have the latest files for the latest makes of car (as well as older models). Best of all, it's free to download and update. I had two specific issues that the TS609 was able to read me correctly with no problems. Number 1 is an early 2000's Kia with an airbag problem. Once connected, navigate through the relevant menus and the results will be displayed with ease. Number 2 is an Oldsmobile ABS failure from the early 2000s. displayed immediately. The reader also has that handy panel backlight when you turn the device on, as well as the type of DTC you're dealing with (None, Permanent, Pending). Many smaller scanners cannot read the required critical modules in current vehicles (transmission, body, ABS, etc.). Most of them are just OBD2 readers with the ability to view and possibly clear generic codes. Oh yes, and a note on quality. I don't feel any worse if it falls off, it has a built in jacket on the reader and a detachable one on the TPMS activator. It's good to know that your investment can fall.
