As other reviewers have said, it doesn't stay "pressed" like traditional lighters, you have to leave it inside. This isn't a big issue for me as I'm a non-smoker and only bought this to further accentuate my car's skull and crossbones. The problem is I bought this for a 'different' cigarette lighter socket in my car, I think it's an 'accessory' but this product doesn't fit. So that's what I use it for at my main location. If you have a Town Car, the skull sticks out too far to cover the lighter's console, so you'll have to take it out every time you want to close it. It's disgusting to keep taking it out and putting it back in. I probably wouldn't buy it again for these reasons, but they seem to be specific to my machine and may not reflect your experience with it.
