My first encounter with Midland was the WR-100 and I'm sure everyone is familiar with this particular product. So I knew that Midland was very famous in the weather radio market, apart from this error. I decided to give them a second chance and they did it! This weather radio is portable, rechargeable and reliable. It should be noted that there are two versions of this weather radio. If your radio ever runs out of power it will display the firmware version before it runs out of power. I have the latest firmware version 16. Why is this important? Well, first of all, it means there is an option to turn off the key beep. And whenever this version receives a test signal, it won't turn itself off but will display "WEEKLY (or monthly) TESTING REQUIRED" with the small indicator (green). For older versions on older models of this radio, the buttons will now beep constantly and the required tests will sound every time. I rewrote this review after finally being made aware of my anomaly facts. I feel that the silent test doesn't detract from its usefulness, and the ability to turn off beeps is very useful.
