THAT DOES NOT WORK! Best Weather Radio

I know it's programmed right! And this part c_ _p NEVER warned us about a tornado and believe me we've used it many times since we bought it! Without our phones and local radio apps, we'd be in serious trouble! What a HUGE, ENTIRE waste of money! If the company has any conscience they will give me a full refund of my money ASAP! Midland radios have been on our farms, in our homes and farm vehicles for many years. They worked, so we bought these. BIG MISTAKE AND EVEN BIGGER disappointment with…

This is a great weather radio.

I'm finally writing my review. I received this radio on March 25, 2013. My battery still has a charge. I just ordered a replacement battery just to have it. I am a Skywarn storm observer. and this radio is very handy to have. Haven't let myself down yet by warning of dangerous conditions. It stays with me along with my light detector. Mine is in the charging cradle when not in use and plugged into a timer set for two hours to charge the battery. The radio works in standby mode for about a day…

Information you can use at your fingertips!

I bought this to keep up with the evolving and sometimes explosive extreme weather conditions here in the American Midwest. Very well made and easy to drive. Very good sound and very convenient to take with you. The top center red light will remain on even with the sound and display off when a weather alert has been issued in the region the radio is programmed to scan via SAME. distinctive tone to catch your attention. The only thing I would suggest as an add-on is a storage case to store the…

Good device, but defective power supply.

The radio works well and has clear reception in our area and has so far managed the few bad weather warnings we have received. We haven't had a chance to test how this works on a trip. The design specs seem to make it a very useful and reliable device. As noted and discussed in some other posts, the power supply is defective. In order not to have to experience an unpleasant surprise in an emergency in the future, I decided to check the device with a voltmeter. On the advice of several other…

Charger won't charge or bring radio to life

I had high hopes of using this weather radio with my fifth wheel. I wanted the battery to run during the day and the plug-in to run at night. I even bought rechargeable batteries, thinking they would charge at night. I'm currently waiting for the support team to contact me, but it's been about a week and there's no communication. The customer service phone number gives an email address to contact but is not responding. The problem is that in about 3 days the device sucks 3 AA batteries and the…

Very good product and seller

I bought this product to take with me when travelling, especially at times when we may not have cell service for our various iPhone weather alerts. On a recent trip here in Florida we found ourselves on the brink of a very violent thunderstorm. Luckily this time we had cell phones and TVs to keep up with the storm, but I figured we needed a better and more reliable warning system to carry around. After reading many reviews of different portable weather radios, I settled on this one and tested…

Great weather radio!

I ordered this because I need a weather radio that will turn on when NOAA is broadcasting. Pure coincidence, but today (3 days after the weather radio was delivered, the "little rain" predicted for today ended with the weather radio playing OVER 9000! times. I have not set this feature to block other counties, because I like to hear what's going on around me but this morning there were 9 different tornado warnings within 50 miles of me and as my son and I were staying in a 5th wheel trailer…

Second try at Midland

My first encounter with Midland was the WR-100 and I'm sure everyone is familiar with this particular product. So I knew that Midland was very famous in the weather radio market, apart from this error. I decided to give them a second chance and they did it! This weather radio is portable, rechargeable and reliable. It should be noted that there are two versions of this weather radio. If your radio ever runs out of power it will display the firmware version before it runs out of power. I have…

Great product while it lasts - WITH UPDATED/REVISED REVIEW

Product received, tested and found no issues. Turned it on and the battery was already charged so I was able to quickly complete the setup process. Plugged in and left overnight. Was woken up by a storm warning so the weather alert function worked great. I took the device off the charging station after about 18 hours (still showing charging) and took it across town. He died about 20 minutes after charging. Brought it home, recharged it, rebuilt it and left it all day - it still says "charging".

  • Excellent Construction
