Very good sound and very convenient to take with you. The top center red light will remain on even with the sound and display off when a weather alert has been issued in the region the radio is programmed to scan via SAME. distinctive tone to catch your attention. The only thing I would suggest as an add-on is a storage case to store the stand, charger, batteries, belt clip and instruction manual. The day after I received this from the USPS, we survived severe thunderstorms and tornadoes and had it by my side the whole time!
