Review on Enhanced Ventilation Motor Assembly by NuTone - Model S97017705 by Jeremy Gulledge

Item claimed as a direct replacement but as others have pointed out the socket slot does not fit. See the first photo with the new mounting plate on top of the old one. This is probably a common problem. Also, my replacement arrived bent. See the second picture where the fan needs to be aligned with the mounting plate. I solved both problems by removing the motors and fans from the mounting plates and attaching the new motor and fan to the old mounting plate. I had to add a washer to each mounting bolt on the new motor because the bolts on the old motor had tabs but the bolts on the new motor didn't and without that clearance the fan would rub against the mounting plate. I installed it again. ceiling and everything works. The new engine seems stronger and louder than the old one. But it does a better job of preventing moisture from the shower from condensing on mirrors, walls, etc.
