While these cabinet lights are great, the idea of installing a remote to dim them seemed a little cheap/unprofessional to me. Through trial and error I have found the best professional dimmer package. It costs a little more, around $25 for the transformer and another $20 for the switch, but it's worth it if you know what you need. We make with fish walls and cut out in boxes. I'm an electrician by trade, so I wasn't scared. From a closet light box you don't need a transformer, remote control, remote control or on/off switch. Again, this almost doubles the cost of the lights alone, but delivers a MUCH better product. See attached drawing and links below for what I bought for this job. The slider dimmer dims the light steplessly, not like dimming to 50%, 40%, 30%, etc., but steplessly to 50%, 49%, 48%, etc. By adjusting the dimmer, the light can be dimmed so dimly that that you can barely see it's on. I adjusted it a bit and used the closet lights as a night light. Absolutely no flicker, no hum, just perfect, smooth dimming with a wall switch. I used a 12 light setup under a closet.
